wow, what a week! i survived finals and this crazy fall semester. praise jesus!

my weekly list of thanks:

grapefruit making its way back into my morning routine
some much needed alone time
a weekend full of productive studying
in the words of my prof, i "nailed" my presentation on friday
finishing up quite possibly the hardest semester of nursing school
a visit from a cherished friend (miss katie)
a celebratory post-finals lunch with allie
a great biggest loser finale (hey now, don't make fun)
hours upon hours spent at coffee shops
the lovely salt lake library
free parking down town
roomies who graciously washed my neglected dishes
the gorgeous mountains... seriously, so breathtaking.
taking time to chill (and looking forward to lots more)
yummy christmas baked goods
my rock star family who supports me through everything
god giving me strength by giving me himself

oh, thankful thursdays... i'm grateful for you in weeks like this, where I need a large spoonful of perspective. in all honesty, during finals week i would probably prefer to sit in my grumpiness and complaining, but you keep my attention elsewhere. so, thank you, project: cultivate thankfulness!

the beautiful blanket of snow on the mountains
safe winter driving (so far)
getting absolutely nothing accomplished over the long weekend
a beautiful thanksgiving day with my family & friends
making time for creativity
pumpkin pie & sweet potatoes
an incredible win for my UTES! KiYi!
reconnecting with an old friend
a long talk on the phone with the chelster
opening my capstone placement and screaming with excitement
my electric blanket... SO cozy

the sound of bing crosby at christmas time
boots, scarves & gloves
warm drinks on frigid mornings
12 days until this semester is done-zo!
wednesday lunch break: costo-co madness with coworkers
snail mail (always brightens my day!)
learning to swallow my pride (ouch!)
finally getting around to my laundry
taking care of sweet babies in the nursery
trying a new italian dish: panzanella (delish)

Happy Thursday!
I know it's kind of the "in" season for being thankful and all...
but, goodness gracious, we certainly do have an abundance of things
to be thankful for... this little project has opened my eyes to that reality.
Praise God for the blessings he pours out on my life every single day!

Here's my list for the week:

singing to stevie wonder in the car with kaitlyn
rain... always love the rain!
catching up with an old friend
registering for my last semester of college... holla!
a fun saturday night in park city
answered prayer
learning to live in joy
yoga with the roomies in the living room
a stellar friends/fam discount at Banana Republic
scarf/pea coat weather
slowly finding victory over a long-time struggle
my green coffee mug
lessons in patience via the exploding plumbing in my house
honeycrisp apples... so SO good.
prying Stranger than Fiction out of my DVD player w/ chop sticks
(hey, it was good for a laugh even though it destroyed the movie)
watching a crazy surgery in the O.R.
hundreds of small hilarious moments at work
yummy pastries with a beloved friend
getting to hold and pray over tiny little babies in the NBICU
a distracted study group (as in, zero studying got done)
the promise of heaven... this is what we get to look forward to

i was feeling a little beat up by the world,
and was sitting smack dab in the middle of a major pity party,
but it's a new week & I'm back with a new attitude and an extra long list.
Things I'm thankful for from the past TWO weeks...

free Jazz tickets to the season opener
mumford & sons+coffee+rain+journal = perfect saturday morning
a great win for the Utes! (lovin' that 7-0!)
some much needed family time
kirkin' of the tartan service on sunday morning
booked my flight for Passion 2011... SO excited!
+ finding out that I get to see my friend Amanda while I'm there
the autumn mountains here in Utah... truly breathtaking
this beautiful song (the lyrics have been running through my head all week)
getting to know my students better... they're so rad!
first snow! (trying to have a good attitude about the approaching season)
new perspectives toward difficult things in life
nana's apple pie and vegetable soup (yum!)
teaching burn ed. to 100's of high schoolers & NOT getting nervous
acing a test I totally thought I bombed (by the grace of god)
an incredibly interesting day working with burn victims
a super fun halloween party (thanks to michy)
finally taking time for a nap (i think it's my first of the semester)
conversations with intelligent people (challenges me to be more informed)
finally feeling better & shaking this nasty cold
a hilarious email sent by a classmate (the timing could not have been better)
my car was broken into & the only thing stolen was my lunch box
a lovely letter of encouragement from a sweet friend
coming home to sweet little post-it notes plastered all over my room
planning a visit from my best buddy living in Africa
an eventful wednesday night at an artshow
